Upcoming Concerts

August 30, 3 pm, Detroit International Jazz Festival: The Ellen Rowe Quartet plays at the Pyramid Stage. The Quartet will premiere some new pieces and perform material from Ellen’s “Denali Pass” and “Sylvan Way” CDs. Joining Ellen are saxophonist Andrew Bishop, bassist Kurt Krahnke and drummer Pete Siers. More Festival information at www.detroitjazzfest.com.

Regular Gigs

On Wednesdays, Ellen plays at the Firefly with the Paul Keller Ensemble, a three-horn sextet, from 8 to midnight at Ann Arbor’s Firefly Club, 637 S. Main St.

On the Radio

In March 2004 the Ellen Rowe Quartet was featured on the NPR program Jazz Set, with DeeDee Bridgewater. Ellen’s performance was recorded at the 2003 San José Jazz Festival.

In March 2002, Ellen made her second appearance as the featured performer on Marian McPartland’s Piano Jazz, on NPR.
